Netflix has launched “The Sandman: Dreamcast,” a podcast series in support of the debut of Neil Gaiman’s beloved comic universe of The Sandman—now streaming on Netflix. In collaboration with Netflix, experiential and cultural strategy agency Bankrobber managed creative development and sibling agency Starfish produced the project.
The Sandman is a critically acclaimed and beloved comic series with an active fanbase. The idea was to create something that got fans excited while also piquing the curiosity of new fans. The objective: make long-time fans and newcomers feel they are part of a secret society that’s hidden in plain sight.
“The Sandman: Dreamcast” is an immersive audio experience that can be heard on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Simplecast. It transports listeners to the realm of the dreaming through the power of imagination and sound. It is recommended that participants listen in a calm, cozy environment. The six five- to six-minute “Dreamcast” episodes feature the voices of Author Neil Gaiman as well as actors Tom Sturridge (Dream) and Vivienne Acheampong (Lucienne).
In addition to the episodes, Bankrobber created 30- and 60-second trailers that are running on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
