Øuterkind Names Ad Agency Vet Rex Roy Creative & Strategy Director

Creative agency Øuterkind has hired marketing veteran Rex Roy as Creative & Strategy Director, partner Christian Gani announced today. Roy has been working freelance on pivotal strategic and creative aspects of the agency’s global work with Caterpillar, and this appointment cements the relationship.
Roy’s career reveals a knack for cross-platform multimedia strategy and storytelling, with a focus on event activation. A lifelong Detroiter, Roy’s experience spans more than 30 transportation brands, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ford, Jeep, and Harley-Davidson. Along with running his own marketing services agency, Roy spent four years as SVP/Group Creative Director at D’Arcy/DMBB and eight years as VP/Creative Director at Jack Morton Worldwide. Roy has helped launch more than 100 nameplates and earned accolades including gold at the New York International Film Festival, a Mobius and numerous industry awards.
Between his more recent agency assignments, Roy spent nearly a decade as a freelance automotive journalist and was published by nearly 40 traditional and new media outlets including Autoblog.com, The New York Times, and Popular Mechanics.
