COMEDIAN ANDY RICHTER ENCOURAGES KIDS GOING HOME FOR XMAS TO BLOCK THEIR PARENTS’ FOX NEWS

A lot of young Americans are concerned that Fox News’ offensive and misleading programming is brainwashing their parents. That’s why comedy great Andy Richter is inspiring a movement that encourages young people going home for the holidays to change the parental controls on their folks’ TV to block the “content unsuitable for older audiences” regularly broadcast on Fox News. The #OutFoxTheHolidays movement, which features a PSA-style video and a website with examples of what Fox considers “news”, is the brainchild of Zac Sax, Aaron Mosher, and David Yankelewitz, 3 advertising creative directors who know a con when they see it. They launched the movement to save their impressionable parents—and America’s democracy—from the threat of Fox News.

The film opens with Trumper Dad (Andy Richter, “Conan”) and Mom (Carrie Madsen, “The Late Late Show with James Corden) welcoming their Daughter (Becky Robinson, “Laughs”, “Funny Or Die”) and (DC Pierson, “UCB”, “Derrick Comedy”) home for the holidays. The parents, fervent conservatives, highlight their viewpoints with a series of awkward and misinformed remarks based on “facts” they heard on Fox News.  At the end of their patience, the son and daughter turn to camera and invite viewers going home for the holidays to use the parental controls on their parents’ TV to block ‘inappropriate content’ like Fox News.  As the creative directors say, “Parents can be impressionable, and it’s up to us kids to protect them.”
