International music shop Butter Music and Sound announces their new partnership with “A Very Special Christmas” (AVSC), representing its extensive holiday music catalogue for music licensing. Butter will represent the catalogue, with all proceeds from licensing the master tracks going directly to Special Olympics. Butter Director of Creative Sync Services Chip Herter led the partnership to bring the catalogue to a wider marketplace in the advertising and entertainment space and raise industry awareness for the charitable cause behind the series of holiday recordings. The collection includes songs from such iconic performers as Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, U2, No Doubt, Willie Nelson, Sting, Madonna, Jon Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks and numerous others.

“We feel lucky to be able to use our platform within the music space to shed light on this wonderful catalogue,” notes Herter. “We hope to be able to continue to boost the proceeds of this benefit series. It’s not every day that we are able to have such a direct impact through our work and that’s a pretty exciting thing.”

The albums, which first launched in 1987, feature top artists in the recording industry who have generously donated their time and talents to create the holiday series benefiting the Special Olympics. Approximately $131 million in royalties and investment proceeds has been generated to date by the sale of the AVSC albums. Funds raised support Special Olympics’ athletes with intellectual disabilities.

The addition of the AVSC catalogue further extends Butter’s existing library of production music with holiday tracks from a wide selection of Grammy-winning artists and comes on the heels of recent syncs on spots for Google and Facebook as well as the recent Netflix feature starring Ali Wong, “Always Be My Maybe”.
