Vitro Welcomes Us to Shoe Paradise
For Aldo Shoes’ Spring/Summer Collection, Vitro and Swedish development company Kokokaka teamed up to showcase footwear through an old school video game. In Aldo Shoe Paradise only commands you need are the up and down arrows. Avoiding banana peels is key, triangular popsicles are worth points, and the main objective is (of course) collecting an array of colorful shoes. At the outset, you'll choose to walk like a woman or a man. The women’s tan legs shimmy and strut with each new pair of shoes, while the men pull out Mick Jagger/Michael Jackson moves as they navigate the beach, pool, jungle and party levels.
What’s the point (besides indulging in a summer fantasy land)? If you land the game’s lottery, you get a 3-minute all you can grab Aldo shopping spree. If you beat the game, you win an in-store discount. Though navigating banana peels and earning popsicles is significantly different from landmines and glory, we still have to say: May the odds be ever in your favor.
