Google Docs Now Allows For Offline Editing

There's less reason to bother with Microsoft Word and Office than ever. Google announced that, beginning later today, Google Docs will allow for offline editing.

Director of Project Management Clay Bavor made the announcement today at Google I/O. Previously Google Docs' lack of offline input held it back from competing with cloud apps like Evernote. Offline ediitng "should work on multiple devices, including the Chromebook and smartphones," according to TechCrunch. This is great news for people who do a lot of work while traveling. Now, and with Google also working on Spreadsheets and Presentations, it's possible to rely solely on Google Docs for projects that would previously require programs like Word and Office. Now if only Google would finally add track changes...
