Vitro Sizes Up Alaska
For the latest Alaska Communications commercial, Vitro created a sixty-second spot that shows off the wide-ranging beauty in America’s largest state. Throughout the video, the camera angles downward at a birds-eye-view as we see a series of short clips: cars driving in a city, a seaplane landing on water, people visiting a waterfall.
The scenery is so vast and incredible, and the ad does a good job of focusing on Alaska’s diverse landscapes as the selling point. We realize that connecting individuals in these remote locations is a challenging task, and any company that is up for the job must know what it’s doing. However, the sped-up action and the distant camera angle make all of the people in the commercial look like tiny Lego figurines darting across the screen. The effect could be cool, if you still like Legos.
Based off of the advertisement, I’m not sure I’d want to switch to Alaska Communications if I moved to Anchorage, but after seeing the landscapes, I definitely want to visit Alaska. I suppose that’s something…
