The folks who brought you Pros & Cons of Social Media in Education and A Teacher's Guide to Social Media have released a follow-up infographic detailing social media's growing role in the college admissions process.

The infographic shows how colleges are relying more and more on social media to find and screen potential candidates; 85% of colleges use Facebook to recruit students and 22% of undergrad admissions offices look up applicants on Facebook. That means you might want to remove those offending alcohol pics or profanity-laden posts if you want to get in to the school of your choice.

Social media is involved in every sector of our life and is now used by colleges to recruit students. This sounds weird but it is true and most of the colleges are adopting this method to screen students online by social media sites. Really social media have acquired a important place in our lives.
