About The New York Egotist
The New York Egotist is a website that is obsessed with the latest happenings in New York's startup, new media, and marketing scenes. We’re especially interested in the intersection of marketing, communication and technology and the badass work our city’s young companies are doing in those fields.
Manifesto
Do you remember when marketing and technology stayed far, far away from each other, like a bitter divorced couple at their son’s bar mitzvah? We don’t, and it’s not just because of all the Manischewitz. It’s because we’re young, forward-thinking and embarking on an amazing new era in NYC. New York tech is back, and marketing and communications have come to join the party. Have no doubt: The fusion of these three will mix better for the ad game than Don Draper, an “old-fashioned” and a secretary.
Venture capital is flowing into the New York startup scene and new companies are popping up every day. Our goal is to chronicle—and celebrate!—the rise of the NYC startup scene while answering a few key questions for you:
-What tech startups can help my marketing agency go digital?
-What marketing agencies can my tech startup help go digital?
-What sexy startups should my VC firm back?
-How the hell do I get funding?
We’ll also tell you who’s hot, who’s not, who’s hiring, who’s firing, and who’s work makes us squeal with delight…in, you know, a cool way.
We’ve got that entrepreneurial spirit. So do you. So send us your work, tips, gossip, job openings or a “hey hey” to newyork@theegotist.com. Trust us, we’ll respond. And if we dig the work you’re doing, we’ll be ticked to come visit your shop. Above all, we want to highlight what’s hot.
This is our moment, New York. Let's go crazy...
