Brooklyn-based Big Spaceship announced the hires of Craig Marrano as Director of Production and Kara Masi as Senior Producer. Reporting to Managing Director Ranae Heuer, Marrano will be tasked with overseeing all production across the agency’s clients. Masi will be tasked with partnering with clients and collaborating with the Big Spaceship “crew” to drive processes and ensure larger projects and initiatives run according to plan, reporting to Marrano.

Marrano joins from R/GA NY, where he served as an executive producer for client projects including Wal-Mart and McCormick’s. Before that he worked for MRM Worldwide as a program manager working on projects for MasterCard, Maybelline, Nikon, Wendy’s, Bertolli and GM.

Masi is a former freelancer and will continue her position as a digital project management and content strategy instructor at Mediabistro.

Big Spaceship also hired April Kandel and Julia Parris as producers supporting more senior team members across a variety of client initiatives. Kandel joins Big Spaceship from Time Inc., where she worked as a marketing solutions manager and Parris joins from Major Robot Interactive, where she was also a producer. Both Kandel and Parris will report to Marrano.

So, we'd like to say congrats to all, and we look forward to seeing the new work!

We're obviously not sure how much change this will lead to, but at the very least, we hope it'll spark conversation. And that's never a bad thing.

To mark the launch of this initiative, the ADC is inviting women in the advertising, design, and digital disciplines to participate in a special photo shoot on Thursday May 30th at 12:30 pm in the ADC Gallery (106 W 29th St). Photographer Monte Isom, who has photographed the Queen of Sweden and Tiger Woods, among others, will be on hand for the shoot.

If yiou're interested in going, they ask that you RSVP to jimena@adcglobal.org.
